Raja Ampat and the Banda Sea 2018 - April 17th-28th

Join us for a trip aboard The MS/Y Aurora - a spacious 130’ long double masted, teak motor-sail yacht, built according to the 'traditional Phinisi style' and designed for a discerning dive clientele. As a guest aboard, you will experience modern comfort combined with the charm of a traditional boat. Aurora has been built following modern and environmentally friendly principles and gives us the opportunity to explore remote areas which only a few – if any – have seen.

Raja Ampat: On the first part of our journey we will dive the “Four Kings” area of Indonesia and immerse yourself in manta rays, wobbegong sharks, pygmy seahorses! Colorful and abundant hard and soft corals with magnificent sea life everywhere you look! The biodiversity of Raja Ampat is second to none, scuba diving here is sure to delight all divers. It was declared the most biodiverse place in the world in 2002. The marine park area is home to over a thousand different species of fish and more than five hundred different corals.

Banda Sea: We will also visit the Forgotten Islands and the Spice Islands on this journey! The diversity of marine life really makes this area stand out for divers. The reefs are caked with soft and hard corals and are home to a rainbow of reef fish with everything from wrasse to juvenile emperor angel fish. Macro photographers will be delighted to find mandarin fish and the unusual looking Ambon scorpion fish which is indigenous to these islands. One of the most magical sights on offer in the Banda Sea are huge schools of mobula rays gliding over the reefs. Arguably the most spectacular experience in the Banda Sea, if you are fortunate enough, is to dive with schooling hammerhead sharks. These giants come here in huge numbers and in often 30 meters of visibility, this is truly a gift! Village visits are offered as well as other eco-adventures during the cruise to round out your experience of Indonesia. We booked the full vessel and have 16 spots available.
