The
PADI Open Water Diver Course
This course is divided into 3 phases:
1. Knowledge Development - develop your familiarity with basic diving principles and procedures
2. Confined Water Dives - practice and learn the basic scuba skills
3. Open Water Dives - put everything together and fully experience the underwater adventure
You may begin the PADI Open Water Diver program at the age of 10. The
course will involve reading the five chapters in the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and
completing the knowledge review. At the end of the course you
will take an exam to make sure you have the key concepts and ideas.
Confined water training sessions are conducted in a pool
enviroment and evaluation portion of the course will
consist of four Open Water checkout dives. Our classroom &
confined
water courses typically run approximately 4 hours per session.

Orientation
Our course begins with an orientation which includes:

Welcoming session and introductions
-
Registration (parents of minors should attend to sign waivers)

Required equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, booties & weight belt) will be on sale
Please sign up before orientation date. Class size is limited to 10 students.
Knowledge Development & Confined Water Dives Instruction
This part of the course consists of 4 pool sessions and 4 academic
(classroom sessions) each of which is approximately 2 hours long.
Course Costs: $375.00
which includes:

Academic materials including the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and Video
- Use of tanks, regulators, and buoyancy control devices
-
Pool instruction
Required Equipment (all items are
available in our store)
Weightbelt, mask, fins, booties, snorkel
Students should have the required equipment before the first pool session
Open Water Checkout Dives:
This
part of the course consists of 4 dives over 2 days in an open water
(lake, quarry, ocean) environment. We can either use a local dive site
or take a trip to the Caribbean to do your checkout dives.

FLEX Schedule
Ultimate Scuba offers a condensed version of
the Open Water Diver Course for individuals who want to complete the
Knowledge Development & Confined Water Dives in one weekend.
The fee for the FLEX course is $375.00
Not included in the course costs: Entry passes, camping, air
fills, and night diving fees for the weekend at Dutch Springs
